Drink Me: How Branding & Design Determine the Beer You Buy
with Craig Bradley
Beer. It’s the world’s oldest known beverage, dating back to the early Neolithic ages, and today is the third most widely consumed beverage on the planet, just behind water and tea. Luckily, this fermented beverage is more popular than ever with over 4,000 breweries operating in America alone, up from just 284 back in 1990.
With that increasingly crowded market, space on the store shelf is at a premium. How does a designer approach this problem so that the package sets itself apart? How do you stand out? And how do you influence the consumer’s choice simply with the graphics on the bottle, can, or tap handle?
As a former associate creative director at a leading Dallas ad agency, Craig Bradley decided to leave the ad world behind and pursue his passion in beer with a couple of buddies, helping create North Texas’ Lakewood Brewing Company. Please join Craig for an evening of discussion as he shares his insights in the market and what he’s learned throughout his time building a successful brand from the ground up in just four short years.
